An Ultimaker 3D printer seen from above

Course in 3D printing

The course is intended for beginners and provides an introduction to 3D printing. It consists of a theory part and a practical demonstration with an Ultimaker. Completed courses provide access to the printer room at Makerverkstedet.

In the course, we will review everything you need to know in order to 3D print digital models, including what FDM printers are comprised of and how they work. We then show the whole process from idea to object: Finding or creating a digital 3D model, using Cura to set settings and prepare the model, and finally how to use the printer. We will also provide an overview of the types of materials you can print with, what other types of printer technologies there are, and options for surface treatment of printed objects.

The slides from the presentation are available through this link.

Remember to bring your NTNU access card to receive access after the course.
