Rules for usage of Makerverkstedet U1

  • Users of the workshop are responsible for their own health and safety.
  • Equipment must be used properly and carefully.
  • Clean up after yourself and put any used equipment back where it belongs.
  • If any equipment is out of order, missing or broken, users must report to MAKE NTNU on Slack or by email: styret@makentnu.no.
  • Do not use any equipment that requires a course without having completed the course.
  • Do not take any equipment out of the workshop.
  • Ask for help if you are unsure about anything.
  • No food or drinks at the electronics tables or in the printer room.
  • Clean up any kitchen appliances you have used and put them back in the cupboards.

Rules for 3D printing

  • The printers may only be used by those who have completed the course.
  • On weekdays between 10:00 and 18:00, you can only book the printers for up to 6 hours.
  • On weekdays between 18:00 and 10:00, and during weekends, you can only book the printers for up to 16 hours.
  • If you would like to print more than 16 hours in a row, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
  • You may not use any other material than the PLA in the printing room. If you want to use more exotic materials, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
  • If you have booked a printer, you must start using it within the first 15 minutes. If not, the reservation becomes invalid.
  • The printers may not be used commercially or with the intent to make a profit.
  • Clean up after yourself and put any used equipment back where it belongs.
  • If you bring another person into the printer room who does not have access, you are responsible for that person following the rules.
  • Respect the calendar. If anyone is printing when your reservation starts, you are free to abort the print.
  • Food and beverages are forbidden in the printer room.
  • If anything is wrong with the printers, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.

If you or anyone you are responsible for break these rules, you can be denied access to the printer room. Violation of the rules or material damage to the equipment at the printer room may also result in a claim for damages.

 

Guidelines for printing if you are not physically present

  • All 3D printing should be booked in the calendar if you are not physically present.
  • The printer has to be marked with your name and phone number, and the print file name should start with your Feide username.
  • You have to be present for the first 15 minutes of printing. Make sure the first few layers are printed properly.
  • Check on the printer as often as you can.
  • Pick up the finished print as soon as it is done. That way, no one else will damage the print while removing it from the build plate.
  • If you see a print that has failed, pause it and contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
