Usage rules for 3D printers
Rules for 3D printing
- All 3D printing should be booked in the calendar.
- The printer has to be marked with your name and phone number, and the print file name should start with your Feide username.
- You have to be present for the first 15 minutes or the first layer of your print (whatever takes the longest time).
- Check on the printer as often as you can.
- Pick up the finished print as soon as it is done. That way, no one else will damage the print while removing it from the build plate.
- If you see a print that has failed, stop it. Contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no if there is a problem with a printer.
- The printers shall only be used by those who have completed the course.
- On weekdays between 10:00 and 18:00, you can only book the printers for up to 6 hours.
- On weekdays between 18:00 and 10:00, and during weekends, you can only book the printers for up to 16 hours.
- If you would like to print more than 16 hours in a row, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
- You may not use any other material than the PLA in the printing room. If you want to use more exotic materials, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
- If you have booked a printer, you must start using it within the first 15 minutes. If not, the reservation becomes invalid.
- You are not allowed to cancel your reservation and create a new one on the same printer in order to stop a print that was started because you did not show up within 15min.
- Do not use the 3D printers with the intention of earning a profit.
- Clean up after yourself and put things back where they belong.
- You are responsible for whomever you bring with you into the room.
- Respect the calendar. If anyone is printing when your reservation starts, you are free to abort the print (if you showed up in time for your reservation).
- No food or drinks inside the printing room.
- If anything is wrong with the printers, contact 3Dprint@makentnu.no.
(The 15min rule for reservations does not apply for reservations made by MAKE NTNU.)
If you or anyone you are responsible for break these rules, you can be denied access to the printer room.
