(We are working on expanding the available printer profiles.)
If you know 3D printing you still need to take our course in order to use the printers. The reason for this is to make sure everyone knows the basics of 3D printing and is aware of the rules that needs to be followed when using the printers.
Occasionally, shorter "lightning courses" are arranged for people who already know a bit of 3D printing.
If you need to print for longer, you can send an email to 3Dprint@makentnu.no. Make sure to include your Feide username and the number of prints you need to print.
You will receive a quota so that you can reserve printers for as long as needed. Try to reserve them during weekends or evenings when there are fewer people using the printers.
If you have lost access to the printer room, you can send an email to 3Dprint@makentnu.no with your Feide username and EM card number, and we'll sort it out.
We usually have more filament in the locked drawers in the printer room or in the storage room. On Monday to Thursday(Friday) from 12 to 18(16) there should be people from MAKE in the workshop. Just ask and we'll happily refill the filament in the printer room. You can also contact us through the links at the very bottom of the page (click the buttons with logos), and we'll refill at the earliest opportunity.
(If you have a long print and want to make sure that there is the right filament color available when your reservation starts, you should contact us beforehand and we can place some filament aside.)
Printer courses are held regularly every 1-2 weeks and are announced on our website and through Facebook 1-2 weeks beforehand. You can sign up to the mailing list to get an email when the next 3D printer course is published.
Normal printing material is PLA. On Ultimaker 2+ / 2+ Extended, the filament diameter is 2.85 mm.
There should be filament in the printer room - which is free to use. You are also allowed to buy your own PLA filament and use in the printers if you want.
Additionally, we have Raise3D printers that can print with other materials. These printers require a seperate printer course in order to receive access to them. On these printers, it's possible to print with other filament types such as PETG, PP, ABS and more. There will be some rolls with filament of these materials in the printer room, but you can also bring your own if you need to print a lot (Raise3D uses 1.75mm filament). If you want to print with a filament/material that is not among the previously mentioned filament types, you must send an email to 3Dprint@makentnu.no.

We normally use Formlabs' standard resin, but we can print with any of Formlabs' resin types that are compatible with the Form 2 printer.
If you need to print with a specific resin, send an email to 3Dprint@makentnu.no and we'll see what we can do. For more expensive resin types, we require that you buy the resin yourself - which you can subsequently hand over to us, so that we can use it to print the models you've sent us.
If you have something that needs to be printed on the SLA printer, you can send an email to 3Dprint@makentnu.no. You can read about which kinds of models we allow to be printed, on this page.
The actual printing should only be done by people in MAKE who have had the proper training. This is because the resin that the printer uses is toxic while uncured, and special precautions must therefore be taken.
Check out the "Equipment" page for info on the embroidery machine
The workshop should have a general selection of tools and equipment. If there is anything missing or that you think we should buy, suggest it to someone from MAKE at the workshop, or contact us through the links at the very bottom of the page (click the buttons with logos).
If you have suggestions for larger equipment or machinery, you should send an email to styret@makentnu.no with your suggestion and why you think MAKE should be offering this equipment.
